Control visitor access into secure spaces as well as enable emergency communications
Intercom systems and telephone entry systems are commonly used at secure entry points in conjunction with access control. These systems allow for a visitor to speak with an authorized individual to gain access into a a secure space without the need of a physical presence.
Telephone entry systems can utilize phone lines, cellular communications, or network connectivity for audio communications to designated phone numbers. Intercom systems can offer a bit more features including video communication, but these generally require point-to-point wiring between stations or utilize network connectivity to communicate with each other.
Emergency phones and call boxes are also available for installation in parking garages, remote areas of campuses, or other areas of concern. These can communicate via phone line, cellular communication, or via network and have visual notification beacons that allow for easy identification once communications are initiated.
